To scale a referenced floor plan drawing from PDF

  1. Imagine the referenced floor plan drawing is from a PDF file on an A1 sized sheet. The drawing must be scaled up to an appropriate size

    Click the Adjust icon.

The Adjust Drawing tool settings window opens.

  2. Determine the size of the floor plan from the dimensions on the drawing. For instance, the building is 87 feet by 104 feet.

Press Pick from the Scale Factor settings group. Follow the prompt Select first point. Enter a data point on a reference point on the drawing (on a grid line for instance). The prompt changes to Select second point. Enter a another data point on another reference point (orthogonally to another grid line for instance).

The Scale factor settings group updates, displaying the picked distance in the Object Length setting.

  3. Enter 104 ft, the actual building size, in the Actual Length text field.
  4. Press Calc.

The Scale Factor is calculated from the Object Length and Actual Length values.

  5. Press Apply.

    The drawing is scaled.

  6. (Optional) Use the Measure tool to verify the scale operation. Measure the same grid points.

    The distance is 104 ft.
